Step To Use Google Web Master Tools

A WebMaster is someone who creates and controls the content and organization of a website.They also manages the server of the computer and the technical programming side of  a website. Google webmaster tool is the main tool of Google for webmasters to communicate with Google. It is free web service of Google for Web masters. It helps the web masters to check the indexing status and optimize the visibility of the websites. It also allows to check and set the crawl rate. Now the Google Web Master Tool is known as Google Search Console.

To set up the webmaster tools :

  • Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools and sign in with Google account. Click on 'Add a property'  and enter the website URL. to verify the site. There are two methods for verification Recommended Method and Alternate Method. We use Alternate Method for the verification of the site. There is a meta tag in the Alternate method , copy the meta tag and paste in the html code of the post. Click the verify button in webmaster tool.

  How To Use Fetch As Google Bot :

  • Select the site to be fetched from the webmaster tools home page.                                                       
  • In the left-hand navigation we can see Crawl option, click on it and then appears a list of options. Click on Fetch as Google option from it.

  • A textbox appears in the page where you have to enter the path component of a URL on your site that you want Googlebot to Fetch.

  •  Choose the type of Googlebot with which you wish to perform a fetch from the grey drop-down,(or fetch and render).                                                                                                                     
  • When the Fetching compeleted then click on Request Indexing option and choose the submit method for indexing and click on Go button.                                                                                          


  • Click on the path once it’s completed. Now we can see the URL that was fetched, the Googlebot type, and when it was completed. If you chose to Fetch and Render the page, you’ll see a “Fetching” tab and a “Rendering” tab.The Fetching tab shows you the downloaded HTTP response, which can be very helpful if you are ensuring a page status, and it also shows you the code of the page.The Rendering tab will give you an idea of how your page renders in the browser selected (desktop or smartphone).
